Ash Greninja
Ash Greninja is a special alternate form of Greninja inspired by the bond between Ash and his partner in the Pokémon anime. In Cobblemon Realms, this form can appear in two different ways: a cosmetic form or through the Battle Bond ability.
💧 Cosmetic Ash Greninja (Water Shuriken)
The simplest way to obtain the Ash Greninja appearance is by using the Water Shuriken item.
How to obtain
Give Greninja a Water Shuriken.
Place it in the cosmetic slot.
➡️ Greninja will display the Ash Greninja appearance.
Changes
This transformation is purely cosmetic.
No stat changes
No ability changes
It only modifies Greninja’s visual appearance, including the iconic dark head pattern.
🔥 Battle Bond Ash Greninja
Ash’s Greninja is also known for its unique ability Battle Bond.
When Greninja has this ability, it can temporarily transform during battle.
How it works
If a Greninja with Battle Bond defeats another Pokémon using a damaging move:
Greninja transforms into Ash-Greninja
The transformation lasts until the end of the battle
After the battle ends, Greninja returns to its normal form.
🤝 Friendship Mechanic
The exact behavior depends on Greninja’s friendship level.
Friendship ≥ 250 ➜ Uses the Generation 7 mechanic Greninja transforms into Ash-Greninja during battle.
Friendship < 250 ➜ Uses the modern generation mechanic Battle Bond provides stat boosts instead of a form change.
This hybrid system is implemented by the Mega Showdown mechanics used in the modpack.
🎩 How to obtain Battle Bond
To obtain a Greninja with the Battle Bond ability:
Hold an Ash Cap (
mega_showdown:ash_cap) in your main hand.Right-click Greninja.
➡️ Greninja will gain the Battle Bond ability.
⚠️ If Battle Bond is applied using commands, the ability may not function correctly.
