# Deeper and Darker

Deeper and Darker adds **The Otherside**, a dangerous Deep Dark-themed dimension focused on darkness, sound, exploration, and high-risk loot.

In **Cobblemon Realms**, this dimension is especially valuable because it also has **custom Cobblemon spawns**, including several rare and late-game encounters.

## Cobblemon Spawns in Cobblemon Realms

If you are deciding whether The Otherside is worth visiting, this is the main reason to go there in **Cobblemon Realms**.

The list below is not a full raw spawn dump. It focuses on the species and biome patterns that make **deeperdarker:otherside** feel special in the modpack.

### Deeplands

Notable spawns include:

* Gastly, Haunter, Gengar
* Duskull, Dusclops, Dusknoir
* Bronzor, Bronzong
* Golett, Golurk
* Deino, Zweilous, Hydreigon
* Spiritomb
* Goomy and Sliggoo
* Flutter Mane
* Roaring Moon
* **Type: Null** as an ultra-rare spawn
* **Marshadow** as an ultra-rare spawn

This is one of the strongest biomes for ghost, dark, ancient, and high-threat Cobblemon.

### Echoing Forest

Notable spawns include:

* Chingling and Chimecho
* Shroomish and Breloom
* Solosis, Duosion, Reuniclus
* Nincada, Ninjask, Shedinja
* Duskull line
* Noibat and Noivern
* Spiritomb
* **Scream Tail**
* **Raging Bolt** as an ultra-rare spawn

This biome leans toward psychic, ghostly, strange, and sound-themed encounters.

### Blooming Caverns

Notable spawns include:

* Goomy, Sliggoo, Goodra
* Tympole, Palpitoad, Seismitoad
* Wooper and Quagsire
* Skorupi and Drapion
* Gulpin and Swalot
* Inkay and Malamar
* Solosis, Duosion, Reuniclus
* Chinchou and Lanturn
* Yanma and Yanmega
* **Brute Bonnet**

This is one of the most interesting Cobblemon biomes in the dimension because it mixes cave, water, poison, and weird-glowing ecosystem spawns.

### Overcast Columns

Notable spawns include:

* Gible, Gabite, Garchomp
* Jangmo-o and Hakamo-o
* Scraggy and Scrafty
* Mawile
* Torkoal
* **Great Tusk**
* **Slither Wing**
* **Sandy Shocks**
* **Gouging Fire**

If you are hunting dragon or paradox-style content, this is one of the most important areas in the dimension.

### Structure-Specific Spawns

Some spawns are tied to structures or special conditions:

* **Alolan Meowth** can spawn near **Ancient Temple** structure locations
* **Alolan Persian** also appears there at higher levels
* some entries also rely on the pack's `#cobblemon:is_deep_dark` tagging, which includes Otherside biomes

***

## How to Access The Otherside

To enter the dimension:

1. Find an **Ancient City**.
2. Locate the large **Reinforced Deepslate** portal frame at its center.
3. Defeat the **Warden** to obtain a **Heart of the Deep**.
4. Clear any sculk covering the inner frame.
5. Right-click the frame with the **Heart of the Deep**.

Important notes:

* the Heart of the Deep is the key activation item
* the frame must be clear of sculk to activate properly
* once inside, record your portal coordinates before exploring too far

***

## Survival Tips Before Entering

The Otherside is much easier if you prepare properly.

Recommended:

* strong armor and weapons
* lots of food and healing
* spare blocks for bridges and emergency walls
* a way to mark your route back
* the **Warden Helmet** if you can get it, because it helps counter the dimension's Darkness effect

The dimension is intentionally hostile, and getting lost is often more dangerous than the mobs themselves.

## Main Biomes

### Deeplands

The **Deeplands** are the most hostile part of the dimension and the biome where the **Ancient Temple** generates.

Expect:

* the highest danger level
* low visibility
* temple runs and high-value loot
* many ghostly, dark, and rare Cobblemon spawns in this modpack

### Echoing Forest

The **Echoing Forest** is the most atmospheric biome, with purple fog, echo trees, and a slightly safer feel than the Deeplands.

It is a good place to gather your bearings, but it still contains dangerous traps, hostile mobs, and several custom Cobblemon spawns.

### Blooming Caverns

The **Blooming Caverns** stand out because of glowing vegetation, water pools, Sludge, and easier natural lighting.

This biome is important for:

* **Resonarium** progression
* **Sludge** farming
* water-adjacent and cave-heavy Cobblemon spawns in Cobblemon Realms

### Overcast Columns

The **Overcast Columns** biome is visually distinct thanks to Gloomslate pillars and amber cores.

In the base mod it is often treated as one of the calmer places to move through, but in Cobblemon Realms it still matters because several strong dragon and paradox-style Cobblemon are tied to it.

## Important Structures and Progression

### Ancient Temple

The **Ancient Temple** is the key structure of The Otherside and generates in the **Deeplands**.

![Ancient Temple](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/67495659/186504704-e56fe4cd-0914-42fe-b250-81f691146e4f.png)

Why it matters:

* it contains valuable loot
* it is tied to advanced Deeper and Darker progression
* it is relevant for some custom Cobblemon spawns in this modpack
* it can contain items like the **Sculk Transmitter** and progression-related upgrades

### Key Items and Gear

Some of the most important progression items are:

* **Heart of the Deep** for portal activation
* **Warden Armor** and **Warden Tools**
* **Resonarium** gear from Blooming Caverns progression
* **Soul Crystal**
* **Sonorous Staff**
* **Soul Elytra**
* **Sculk Transmitter**

You do not need all of these immediately, but they define the long-term value of the dimension.

## Quick Reading of the Dimension

If you only want the short version:

* visit it first for the Cobblemon spawns, then stay for the loot and progression
* **Deeplands** are the headline biome for danger and rare endgame encounters
* **Echoing Forest** is great for strange and psychic-feeling spawns
* **Blooming Caverns** mix water, cave, and poison-style encounters
* **Overcast Columns** are a hotspot for dragons and paradox hunting
